About 2048

2048 is a compact number puzzle built around planning and space management. Each move shifts every tile on the board, so a useful move should combine numbers without blocking your largest tile. This version works with a keyboard, touch gestures and visible direction buttons.

How to play

Move all tiles with the arrow keys, WASD, a swipe or the direction buttons.
When two tiles with the same value meet, they merge into one tile.
Keep combining tiles to build larger values and aim for the 2048 tile.
The game ends when the board is full and no neighbouring tiles can merge.

Tips and strategy

Keep your largest tile in one corner whenever possible.
Avoid moving in every direction without a plan.
Build an ordered chain of values beside your largest tile.
Use empty spaces carefully because they give you room to recover.
