A 10–15 minutes practice routine
You do not need to recreate a classroom lesson. A short routine that mixes explanation, one modelled example and independent recall is enough for useful home practice.

Start with the learning goal: “I can build a detailed noun phrase without making it confusing.” Ask your child to explain any words they already know.

Model one example together: Expand 'the tower' with precise detail.

Let your child try two questions independently: Add a prepositional phrase to 'the cottage'. / Which is more precise: 'a bird' or 'the tiny blue bird on the branch'?
