Current KS2 English reading format

Three texts, one hour, original Mindrailo practice

The statutory KS2 English reading test currently gives pupils one hour to read three texts and answer questions, with 50 marks available. This Mindrailo practice uses three original texts and the same overall one-hour pacing, but it is shorter and designed for targeted practice rather than pretending to be an official paper.

Results break down retrieval, inference, vocabulary, summary, comparison and prediction, then explain every answer so the next revision step is clear.

Year 6 SATs arithmetic practice test

Try 36 original arithmetic questions in 30 minutes. The practice is worth 40 marks and is designed to build familiarity with the current KS2 arithmetic format without copying live test questions.

Before you start: use a pencil and working paper if helpful. Do not use a calculator if you want realistic arithmetic-paper practice.

The statutory KS2 Mathematics Paper 1 assesses arithmetic. Pupils currently have 30 minutes and the paper is worth 40 marks. This Mindrailo practice uses the same overall timing and mark total with original questions for familiarisation.

    Use the reading skill breakdown, arithmetic practice and one lesson from each English area to identify gaps.

    Use lessons and untimed printables for the weakest prerequisite topics.

    Mix and retrieve

    Alternate reading skills and maths topics rather than repeating one format.

    Build familiarity

    Repeat timed practice only after the underlying skills are secure.

  • Keep at least one rest day each week.
  • Review errors as learning evidence.
